BLOG: NEXT Normal Conference 2020 – Recap. The world has changed and so has the way you lead.

June 10, 2020 Joel Guthrie

We were honored to be a part of the very first NEXT Normal Conference June 2-4, 2020.  Next Normal is the first virtual event specifically designed to help church leaders navigated the unique challenges that 2020 has created.  They put together the ultimate line-up of influential leaders across ministries and churches; providing insights from team leadership, personal development, and the call to innovate.

Over 4,500 church leaders attended the virtual event and learned from influential leaders such as Derwin Gray, Larry Osborne, Jeff Henderson, Matt Chandler, Carey Nieuwhof, and many more.

“We’re seeing future-positive leaders asking right now: What can we do? vs. What can’t we do? But more importantly, these leaders are being as intentional as possible about the Next Normal” said Kenny Jahng of the digital event production partner, ChurchCommunications.com

We are still absorbing all of the incredible content that was shared during the 3-day event.  Here are some of our favorite quotes:

“WEAK, W: Willing to sit at Jesus’ feet,  E: Expose our hurts and wounds, A: Acceptance – leading from a position of affirmation in Christ, K: Kingdom-Minded” – Derwin Gray.

“Where FEAR sees a CRISIS, FAITH sees OPPORTUNITY” – Dave Ferguson.

“To lead well during these kinds of disruptive intersections, what we need is a skill of creating the future while also protecting the past.” – Larry Osbourne.

There were so many incredible moments and encouragements to help these church leaders navigate the rest of 2020, from planning their programs, investing in leaders, and working towards meeting in person again.

This event was one of a kind and one you don’t want to miss next year!
