"I have confidence in data. As the numbers shift, we will have to create new strategies, and we will. It's exciting to see the growth and help meet the needs of the ministry," —Jolinda Moore, Director of Major Gifts 37% Donors contributing in 2009–2010 represent a 37% boost in ministry support Healthy Results in Lean Times The statistics tell the story: From 2008 to 2010, the archdiocese grew major donors from 442 to 659. And the total dollars raised between mid-level and major gifts increased from $1.2 million to $1.6 million. As more specific ask amounts were developed, current donors increased their giving. In fact, donors contributing in both 2009 and 2010 represent a 37 percent boost in ministry support. "It's exciting to be able to grow our donor base," said Ms. Moore. "And while we have to raise money in difficult times, it is in difficult times that more and more people turn to the Church for help with their basic needs." Looking to the Future Archdiocese staff members are moving ahead on several fronts. After meeting with donors and other constituents, they are updating marketing messages to more clearly define the contributions the archdiocese makes to the parishes they serve, and they are developing more volunteers to help with outreach. In 2011, the development office will have the ability to explore if the custom modeling scores have the archdiocese trending upwards with the 2010 purchase of donorCentrics® performance benchmarking, another tool powered by Blackbaud Target Analytics® that analyzes donor life cycle behavior and fundraising program performance over time. "I have confidence in data. As the numbers shift, we will have to create new strategies, and we will. It's exciting to see the growth and help meet the needs of the ministry," said Ms. Moore.
